About Dairy Cares
ABOUT DAIRY CARES
Sustainability is a way of life on California’s more than 1,100 family owned dairy farms.
Dairy farm families are supported by the dairy cooperatives, processors, trade associations, and other businesses involved in the state’s $20 billion dairy industry. These families are committed to caring for their animals and protecting our land, water, and air resources— all while providing nutritious and affordable dairy foods that support the health of millions of families. In 2001, the California dairy community came together to form a coalition called Dairy Cares, working collaboratively to ensure the long-term sustainability of our dairy farms.
Mission
Dairy Cares strives to ensure the long-term sustainability of California’s farming families through strong environmental stewardship, responsible animal care, and adherence to the core values of honesty, ethics, diligence, and community.
